SSC CGL Recruitment 2021: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC CGL Exam for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” category posts in various Government Ministries, Departments and Offices. The SSC CGL exam is held in 4 stages called Tiers. While the first two are online the latter two are offline exams. SSC CGL 2021 Exam: Important Dates

The Online Exam for SSC CGL 2021 Tier I exam will be conducted from August 13 to 24, 2021. Earlier, it was scheduled to be held from May 29 to June 7, 2021 which had been postponed due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in India. The new exam dates for SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination – 2021 has been announced by the Commission on July 2, 2021 along with SSC exam calendar.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2021

Staff Selection Commission of India will be conducting SSC CGL 2021 Exam in four stages: Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3 & Tier-4 exam. While Tier-I & Tier-II exam will be conducted online, Tier-III will be a pen and paper based exam and Tier-IV will be a computer skill test. Let's have a look at the exam pattern for all these stages of SC CGL 2021 Recruitment process one by one.

Candidates must note that the score for SSC CGL Tier-I & Tier-II Exam will be normalised if it is conducted in multiple shifts. The normalisation score will be decided by SSC and it will be considered final for selecting candidates for the further rounds (Tier-III & Tier-IV) of SSC CGL 2021 Exam.

SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL 2021 Tier-1 exam will be conducted online comprising of 4 sections with about a 100 questions in total and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes.

Penalty of Wrong Answer: There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. There is no sectional cut off. No point will be deducted if the question is left blank or unattempted by a candidate.

SSC CGL Tier-2 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Tier-2 exam will be conducted online comprising of 4 papers with about a 100 questions in Quantitative Ability, Statistics, General Studies (Finance and Economics) & 200 questions in English Language and Comprehension Papers and with maximum marks of 200 for reach papers.

Penalty of Wrong Answer: There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.

SSC CGL Tier-3 Exam Pattern

As per the last year notice, the starting basic pay of a Probationary Officer (PO) is 27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I.

The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. The total compensation per annum on CTC basis be a minimum of 8.20 lacs and maximum of 13.08 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.
