What is difference between SSB, CDS and AFCAT?

First, let us talk about Combined Defence Services Exam (CDS) and Air Force Common Entrance Test (AFCAT). The major difference lies in the names themselves. You can join IMA, OTA, AFA, and INA after clearing CDS but AFCAT is exclusively for the Indian Air Force. Let us now break down major differences between CDS and AFCAT and then we shall come to the SSB.

Now let us understand the SSB part ~

Once you clear any of the above written exam, you are called for SSB if you have chosen army as choice of service in CDS or to AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) if you have chosen Air Force as the choice of service in CDS or in case of AFCAT.

Majority part for both SSB and AFSB remains same and if you’re suitable for selection you will be recommended in both the boards. I hope i could explain fairly well on this topic!
